Position Overview:
Seeking a Tool and Die Maker with a minimum of 5 years industry experience to work in a die design, build and condition facility. Position will be primarily responsible for assembly and conditioning portion of the projects. Candidate will need to work closely with engineering as well as having the ability to formulate ideas and execute them on his/her own. This position is a 3rd Shift position and will be based out of our Mt. Joy (Lancaster county), PA facility.

Minimum
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years experience in the tool and die trade and completion of a Tool and Die apprenticeship.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Laying out work assignments utilizing verbal instructions, rough sketches, tooling and product prints and visualizes product.
Determining necessary machine operations and setting up / operating machine tools such as a lathe, milling machine, or grinder to machine parts and verify conformance of machined parts to specifications. May operate EDM or optical contour grinder.
Fitting and assembling component parts into completed unit or mechanism and verifying dimensions, alignment and clearances. Files, stones, grinds, scrapes, or performs other smoothing blending operations to enable parts to fit properly. May use shims to correct improper fit and alignment of parts.
Setting dies in press and performing trial runs to assure proper clearances under pressure and to check for binding. Checks and inspects completed stamped parts for adherence to engineering specifications.
Analyzing and correcting tool malfunctioning in newly constructed or modified dies, verifying dimensions, alignments, and clearances, making any necessary adjustments or corrections to die or die parts to rectify tolerance deviations occurring in the stamped product, normally checking with supervisor before making any major changes.
Recommends changes in tooling design under general approval of Engineering to improve such factors as life, quality and quantity of tooling and product while conditioning die to prevent breakage of small and intricate die tooling or to eliminate design problems.
Utilizes precision measuring instruments such as height gage, job blocks, comparator, dial indicator, micrometer, tool makers microscope, surface analyzer, etc. to insure parts are to proper specification and to check die assembly to insure that each station is in correct position.

CNC and/or EDM machining experience is a plus but not a requirement.
Any computer skills: Knowing how to find files, use of Microsoft office, knowledge of a CAD package.
